
QUEZON CITY, Philippines- Children, mothers, fathers, and grandparents alike availed of the free Hilot sessions provided by the Association of Traditional Health Aid Givers Philippines, Inc. (ATHAG) during the “Medical, Dental, and Wellness Mission” held at the GPH Medical Clinic, Brgy. Payatas A, on Sept. 21, 2014.
The activity was a joint project of GPH Medical Clinic, Boots dela Cruz, Dr. Froro V. Corrales, Lingap Bayan Emergency Rescue Team, United Healers League of the Philippines, Concerned Citizens Riders Group, and Kap. Manny N. Guarin.
During the mission, the GPH Medical Clinic was packed with Payatas residents of all ages who wanted to avail of the different medical, traditional, alternative, and wellness modalities that were offered. Some availed of traditional Hilot, others tried spiritual healing, people who had vision problems went to consult the optometrist. Residents who wished to see medical doctors came in for regular medical consultations. A group of TESDA trainees offered free massage for people who wanted some stress relief.
At the makeshift tent occupied by ATHAG, mothers brought their babies and children for time-tested traditional Hilot. Adults with back and joint pains also took advantage of the opportunity to relieve their back and joint pains.
